Maidstone Combined Court
We were contacted on behalf of the Ministry of Justice in regards to applying a new coating to the Plant and Boiler room of Maidstone County Court in Maidstone.
The Client
The Ministry of Justice contacted us regarding the application of a new floor coating to the Plant and Boiler Room at Maidstone County Court.
The Challenges
The plant and boiler rooms were located on the top floor of the building. All the noisy work associated with the new installation had to be carried out over the weekend, as the courts on the floors below were in session during the week. An old epoxy coating was in place, which was extremely worn and had a large number of cracks.
The Solution
We ground the old coating to remove it and create a strong mechanical key. The primed surfaces then had to be treated. Once sufficiently cured, we filled the extensive cracks in both floors with a custom-made resin-based mortar. The floor was then coated with our anti-slip floor coating system.
The Results
The application of the new coating system improved the overall functionality and safety of the areas. The bespoke crack repairs ensured the structural integrity of the floors, and the anti-slip properties of the coating contributed to a safer working environment.
